Lisburn Sub-Aqua Club News

2017 what a year!

2017 has been a great year for Lisburn SAC. Members have been on trips to The Red Sea, The Isle of Man, Scapa Flow and not forgetting our training weekends at Barholm in Portaferry and regular diving too!

We’ve welcomed 22 new members to our Sport, 2 new members from other training agencies and hosted numerous Try Dives. Members have completed Ocean Diver, Dive leader and Advanced Diver qualifications as well as Compressor Operator, Practical Rescue Management, First Aid and O2 Admin Skill Development Courses. We’ve invested in a club 4x4 towing vehicle and given our 3 boats overhauls to keep them running into the future.

With 2018 just around the corner and plans already in place for another Ocean Diver intake, Sports Diver and Advanced Diver training, Nitrox Blending and Buoyancy and Trim SDC’s. A trip has been booked to The Red Sea in May and we’ve even booked a return visit to Scapa Flow for 2019!

Making all these things happen requires a lot of effort from those involved in running the club so we’d like to say a big Thank You to our Committee, dedicated Instructor team and our members!

Our AGM is just around the corner so if you have a passion for our sport and the enthusiasm to keep our club active and delivering for its members then please talk to a committee member about joining the team.
