Qualified divers who are at Sports Diver standard are welcome to join us at any time of the year. For further information contact our Membership Secretary Marie Wallace either by e-mailing membership@lisburnsac.co.uk or by calling 077 344 11181
Lisburn Sub-Aqua Club is a Branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club. As a BSAC club member, you'll learn to dive through completing your Ocean Diver course under the expert tuition of a fully qualified BSAC Instructor. Designed for those new to our sport the course is delivered over a number of weeks and a series of weekend dives in the sea. You will benefit from the ongoing support and expertise of your diving instructor and fellow club members as well as the highest standard of training.
By joining a BSAC club (also known as Branches), you can also participate in the full range of club activities, including further training and specialist skill development courses, social activities, day and weekend diving trips and diving holidays. Our club has access to an excellent pool for regular skill practice and offers other facilities, such as boats, compressor and free use of equipment for training.
While you will need to be reasonably fit for the Ocean Diver course, it is by no means an endurance test. Provided that you are over the age of 14, a reasonable swimmer and in good health, you're ready to take that first step to learn to dive.
Through the combination of theory lessons, pool sessions and open water experience, you'll learn your new diving skills progressively and at your own pace. You will develop your skills in the safe confines of a swimming pool before progressing to your first open water dives and your Ocean Diver qualification.
As a newly qualified diver, you can continue on through BSAC’s diver grades and learn new specialist diving skills. With Lisburn Sub Aqua Club you can dive regularly in the UK and Ireland's beautiful and diverse waters or add a new dimension to your next holiday abroad.
Lisburn Sub-Aqua Club usually runs Ocean Diver training courses twice a year. Please contact membership@lisburnsac.co.uk to find out details of the next course.
If you would like to learn to dive with us why not call in to our Clubroom and have a chat with us. Our Club meets each Tuesday and Thursday from 8.30 pm onwards. The Clubroom is located next to the Lisburn LeisurePlex and has a large sign over the door. Its best to contact Marie membership@lisburnsac.co.uk or one of the other committe members on the Contact Us page before hand to arrange a date. It is also possible to have a "try dive" to see if diving is for you.
Due to the high demand of people wanting to join and the limit at which new members can be accepted for training with a qualified instructor, membership is on a “first come, first served” basis. Membership subscriptions must be paid in full to the Membership Secretary before training can start. It is essential that new divers have the commitment to complete the course as a vast amount of time and effort is given voluntarily by each of our instructors to train new members.
All new members must complete a medical self certification form before they are permitted to use the scuba equipment
For further information on membership please contact Rachel, our Membership Secretary, by e-mailing membership@lisburnsac.co.uk
